On February 27, 2026, REDHy reached Milestone 5 with the successful validation of bipolar membranes (BPMs). Developed by CENmat in collaboration with CNR, DLR, and UPV, these BPMs are PFAS-free, CRM-free, and deliver high water dissociation efficiency, reaching 1 A cm⁻² at 2 V.
The BPMs are now being integrated into the REDHy system, boosting the efficiency of the redox mediator system and supporting sustainable, high-performance hydrogen production.
